Different ways to reduce your electricity bills.

  • Turn off lights when not in use

  • Unplug items not in use

  • Replace your light bulbs with LED

  • Use Smart Power Strips

  • Install programmable or smart thermostat

  • Window Coverings

  • Add a dry towel to your laundry load to reduce drying time

  • Keep your Refrigerator temp around 38-40 degrees and Freezer around 5 degrees.

  • Make sure Air Vents are not blocked

  • Replace your Air Filter

  • Check Doors and Windows for leaks

  • Lower the temperature on the Water Heater

  • And let’s not forget the Solar Panels as one of the best forms of energy efficiency.

Step 1: Schedule a power outage day

Step 2: remove all items from outlets except fridge/freezer and waterheater/furnace/ac or consider a Smart strip power strip to help with eliminating phantom energy sources.

Step 3: find activities you can do without power

Step 4: replace any items that you can with energy efficient products

Step 5: Contact local power company to see if you can receive any tax rebates or discounts on larger items like insulation, solar panels, water heaters
